Car owners who are uninitiated often thinks that the key to their vehicle’s performance is the horsepower, torque and 0-60 acceleration. This is true to some extent; however, all of the power that is generated by a piston engine is of no use if the driver doesn’t have the ability to control the car. For this reason, car engineers turned their attention to the suspension system after they had mastered the four-stroke internal combustion engine.

Cars Suspension

The car’s suspension system maximizes the friction between the tires and the road surface to be able to provide steering ability with good handling and to make sure that the passengers are comfortable. But the suspension system cannot work alone. It has to have durable and reliable suspension parts to be able to function at its best. One important part of your vehicle s suspension system is the control arm. Control arms are often shaped like the letter A.

Control Arm Function

The control arm’s function is to manage the motion of the wheels in relation to the body of your car. Two points on the control arm ( at the bottomĀ  of the A) attach to a vehicle s frame whereas the third point attaches to the spindle. If these control arms are not developed, you and your passengers will soon find yourselves feeling sick because of too much movement of your vehicle especially when traversing rough roads not to mention the wear and tear that worn out control arms do to the rest of your suspension system.

So, it is recommended that as early as possible, have your control arms checked regularly. If you found out that it has damaged, look for a replacement right away. Just click below and you are on your way to replacing that damaged control arm.
