A very common problem on vehicles particularly on some full-size trucks is cab corner deterioration. Car owners that live on some parts of the country that have harsh weather conditions can attest to this fact. Mud, rain, snow and other harmful elements bring damage to your cab corners.
Damaged Cab Corner
Anyway, replacing a damaged cab corner is just easy, it doesn t even require a lot of time and you can do it on your own. But if you want to have it replaced by a mechanic, it doesn t matter. It just takes 20-30 minutes and after, you ll see the difference. So, here s how. First, you should cut away the rotten cab corner using a cutting wheel. Then, get your replacement cab corner and trim it a little bigger than needed with a plasma cutter.
New Cab Corner
After that, drill some holes so you can spot weld the new cab corner in position. Place it on top of the original cab corner. Using a cutting wheel, cut the overlapping cab corner and remove the damaged one. Make sure you have completely positioned the new cab corner so you will have a perfect fit. Just weld it and double check if it s ready for clean up. If it s ready, clean it and paint with a shade that will match your car s exterior design.
